Green Party Dress
20” x 24” Art quilt
One or Two days.
This is a very successful and popular class. It involves basic rotary cutting and sewing to make the central mosaic panel, Seminole piecing as a border detail, and raw edge appliqué with organza for the embellishments.
It can be made in any color and is a great stash buster.
Most students have the top nearly completed in the full day class.
Pattern fee - $10. per student.

The Colours of Nebula
19” x 50” Art quilt
This is a fun one or two day class. Students create the ‘nebula’ by assembling random chunks of colourful cloth, and then assemble the blocks in a black lattice that is embellished with ribbon.
I like this pattern, as it is very easy for students to change the shape and size of the overall piece, and the colours will vary depending on which Nebula they are inspired by.
Pattern fee- $10. per student.

Fabric Postcards
4” x 6” ready - to - mail art
These little art post cards are like candy to make! You can’t make just one. I prepare kits for this class, as there is a wide assortment of materials used. This way the students have the opportunity to try many methods and learn new techniques. Just bring your tools, sewing machine and thread! In a full day students will make 4 to 5 cards.
Kit fee- $25. Per student.

Torn Strip Applique
11” x 20” Art quilt
One day class.
This is a new technique that is very textural and fun to make. It involves tearing strips of fabric and sewing them on a stiff base to make art quilts. No two will ever be the same!
The kit includes everything you need for a postcard size sample of the technique.
Students supply materials for a larger piece.
Starter kit fee- $5. Per student.

Raw Edged Machine Appliqué
This is a technique I have been developing to create appliqué art quilts completely by machine without having them shift and pucker. The quilt is sandwiched in an unusual way to make this technique work so well.

Star Quilt Class
Two day class.
I love this class if you want a full weekend of sewing and quilting! Rotary cutting, strip piecing, mitered corners and appliqué all come into play here. If we work at a steady pace, most people will have the top almost finished by the end of the weekend.
Pattern fee- $12. Per student.

Fabric Landscapes
This has been perhaps my most popular class. In a full day every one will complete a unique needle turned landscape. If your group hasn’t had a chance to make these yet, they may like to try it.
The kit will include an 8” x 10” archival mat, muslin base and sky fabric.
Class fee- $25. Per student.

Celestial Globes
I have made a number of versions of this 12” x 12” art quilt, and I love every one.
As far as technique goes, they are relatively simple, but they are a place to play with all kinds of surface texturing, painting, and wild quilting.
Appliqué, piecing and designing techniques are used in this class.
